To answer your question. The concept of Israel, from a biblical perspective, refers to the people rather than the land or government. The Bible traces Israel's origins back to Abraham and his descendants, the kingdom is later divided and a subsequent exile cuz of their disobedience. Throughout the years, many Jews returned to their homeland. While some I believe were purebloods, many were not I believe due to intermarriage. Now to be clear, God does not treat them any better than He would anyone who would accept Him as Lord .. as a Child of God ... I also have Abraham by Faith in Jesus.
Talking about the nation of Israel, there's no other nation that has been as oppressed as them. That is why the Holocaust is so big. Why has there been so much hatred about them?
when you look at October 7th. Just think about it. They were celebrating. They were partying. A group of people, the Hamas, right, they came in and they killed them and took some hostage and today we talk about hostage deal. Now you also hear of Iran getting ready to Nuke them out if possible .. at the same time you see anti-jew march everywhere ... why ? Why is there so much hate about them ? To me it is nothing but spiritual ... just like Satan hates you and me cuz we are Children of Abraham by faith ..he also hates them cuz they are a constant reminder of his upcoming defeat .. he will do his best to take them out.
I have spoken a lot but I hope i make sense. The prayer is about teh People in Israel. Now to be clear no one said they are saints or angels .. neither am I .. neither are you. Yet God came and died for us and still takes care of us. So just like you and I ... God also wants them kept safe and advises us in the Bible to pray for them.
