In the depths of the infernal realm, Lucifer/Satan/Our Adversary convened a global assembly of his demonic forces. Addressing his demons, he conceded, "We cannot prevent Christians from attending church, nor can we stop them from studying their Bibles and understanding the truth. We are powerless to keep them from embracing biblical values. However, there is one crucial thing we can do:
we can obstruct their path to forming an intimate, ongoing relationship with Christ.
"Should they establish that profound connection with Jesus, our dominion over them will crumble. So,
let them attend their services,
let them maintain their Christian lifestyles,
but we must rob them of the time needed to cultivate that deep, personal experience with Jesus Christ.
"This is our mission demons: distract them relentlessly. Prevent them from grasping hold of their Savior and sustaining that vital connection throughout each day of their lives."
"How shall we accomplish this task?" his demons inquired eagerly.
Satan's eyes gleamed with malevolent intent as he replied, "Inundate them with the trivialities of life. Implement countless schemes to occupy their minds and hearts. Tempt them with materialism – encourage them to spend excessively, then borrow recklessly to maintain their lavish lifestyles. Persuade them to toil ceaselessly, six or seven days a week, 10-12 hours daily, all in the name of affording their desired standard of living.
"Orchestrate their lives so they have no time for their children. As families disintegrate, homes will cease to be sanctuaries from the relentless pressures of work and society.
"Overstimulate their senses at every turn. Let there be no moment of silence or reflection. Entice them to have constant background noise – radio, television, streaming services – in their cars, homes, and workplaces.
“Flood their living spaces with magazines, newspapers, and digital content. Bombard them with a ceaseless stream of news and information, day and night. Invade every moment of their commute with attention-grabbing advertisements. Overwhelm their physical and digital mailboxes with junk, promotions, and endless newsletters.
"Even in their leisure time, push them towards excess. Ensure they return from vacations more exhausted and unprepared for the week ahead than when they left.
“During moments of spiritual fellowship, mire them in gossip and trivial conversation, leaving their souls unfulfilled and yearning.
"Encourage their involvement in evangelism and good causes, but crowd their schedules so thoroughly that they have no time to seek strength and guidance from the Holy One. Soon, they will find themselves laboring in their own limited strength, sacrificing their health and family unity for what they believe to be righteous endeavors."
The convention concluded, and the demons dispersed with fervent enthusiasm to fulfill their assignments.
Has the adversary succeeded in his insidious plan? The evidence surrounds us daily – in our hectic schedules, our fractured relationships, our constant state of distraction and unrest. Yet, hope remains. The words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 still ring true:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
In light of this, we must ask ourselves: How will we respond?
Will we continue to be swept along by the currents of busyness and distraction, or
will we intentionally carve out time for that vital, life-giving connection with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?
The choice is ours, and the stakes could never be higher.
Join me today and let us commit today to prioritize our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ above all else. Submitting to God and resisting the enemy's schemes and finding true rest and purpose in Him.
God Loves you, you are the most Precious in His Sight.

I STRUGGLE WITH THIS EVERY DAY!! The thing is, I have the time, plenty of it, but I give my Lord short shrift in spending time with just Him. I read my Bible, study my devotional, and listen to enlightening Christian podcasts, but they are not substitutes for spending time with HIM. Thank you for writing such an engaging and thought-provoking article that has helped me to refocus my priorities. 🙏🏾
True words Brother, I'll work, to let it go, and encourage those around me to do the same
